Abstract Roberto Brenes Mesen, educator, political critic, poet, and philologist, taught in Northwestern University's Department of Romance Languages from 1926-1939. His Papers consist of biographical materials, correspondence, teaching materials, research materials, publications, and critical studies. The majority of the matieral is in Spanish.
Abstract The papers of William A. Earle (a member of Northwestern University's Department of Philosophy from 1948-1982) fill one box and date between 1941 and 1988. The collection consists of biographical materials, his writings (dissertations; and other writings), and correspondence. The biographical materials include Earle's diplomas, his undergraduate convocation program, press releases, resumes, and obituaries.
Abstract Mary Blaine Hallock Sargent (1922-2007) graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Education degree in 1944. Her papers include a notebook from a philosophy class with notes regarding former Professor Baker Brownell's writings and some biographical materials.

Abstract The Paul A. Schilpp Papers fill one box, spanning the years 1935 to 1993, and providing an overview of Schilpp's life and career as a Northwestern University professor of philosophy and a Methodist minister. The bulk of the materials consist of newspaper clippings, press releases, and articles and reprints of journal publications as well as a small amount of biographical material and correspondence.
Abstract The Eliseo Vivas Papers fill 17 boxes (one is half-size) and span the period 1922-1987. They are arranged in five categories: biographical materials, correspondence, teaching files, speech manuscripts and papers, and publications. The biographical materials include personal data, bibliographies, clippings, family materials, financial records, an interview, and note books. Of special interest are a two and one-half page biographical article by T. S. Hayes and a four page “Statement of the Major...
