Abstract

Rance Crain attended Northwestern University from 1958-1960, graduating with a degree in Journalism from Medill. He was President of his family-owned publication company, Crain Communications, and served as editor-in-chief of Advertising Age and several other publications. The Papers include his columns for those publications as well as his notes and research, and span the period 1956-2015.

German Publishers Prospectuses, 1920-1940

Abstract This collection consists of publishing prospectuses issued between 1920 and 1940 by German publishers and booksellers, though the bulk of them are most likely from 1930 to 1938. The firms are predominantly from Berlin, Leipzig, Munich and Vienna, and although there are only one or two examples from most firms, a few are represented by several prospectuses. Robert R. McCormick. Memoirs

Abstract

This series is one of a group that together represent the memoirs Col. Robert R. McCormick (1880-1955), editor and publisher of the Chicago tribune. These memoirs were originally presented as part of McCormick's weekly radio addresses, and were intended for eventual publication, but were never published. This series contains early published versions of each sections of the memoirs.
