Quebec and Ontario Paper Company paperworkers strike of 1990 records

 Collection — Box 1: [Barcode: 35552001029288]
Identifier: XIX-50
Abstract

This collection consists of a single folder of clippings and other materials related to the strike in August, 1990, by locals of the Canadian Paperworkers Union against the paper mills in Thorod and Baie Comeau owned by the Quebec and Ontario Paper Company (itself owned in turn by the Tribune Company). Because the mills were important consumers of used paper, the strike had a significant effect on Canadian recycling programs.
