Abstract

This collection holds an assortment of items pertaining to the 1949 Rose Bowl football game, which Northwestern University's Wildcats won over the University of California's Golden Bears. Items include media clippings, expense reports, souvenir programs, train menus, and other materials documenting the game, the participation of the NU Marching Band, the trip to and from Los Angeles, and related celebratory events.

1968 Democratic National Convention Collection

Abstract The McCormick Library’s small collection on the events surrounding the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago was donated by Kaye Miller in 1982. Miller, a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, was creating a documentary with one of his classes during the convention. Isaac Arthur Abt, pediatrician and Northwestern University Medical School professor, began his practice in internal medicine but gravitated to pediatrics, with a particular intererst in nutrion, and became one of the earliest specialists in the field. The Isaac Arthur Abt Papers are arranged in six main categories: biographical material; class and teaching notes; publications; addresses; clinics; and material by or related to I. A. Abt's elder son, Arthur Frederick.

The "Agentzia" publishing house was founded in 1968 by Jochen Gerz and Jean-François Bory. The Agentzia Press Archive consists of files kept by Gerz. The files contain correspondence, manuscripts (including typescripts, original graphics, photocollages, photographs, exhibition catalogs), some production materials of the Agentzia Press, and monographs and serials associated with Agentzia authors.

Qudsia Ahmad (1912-2009), born in Palestine, was recognized as a poet and worked as a radio broadcaster for the Palestine Broadcasting Service (PBS) before moving to the United States in January 1948. Residing in Forty Fort Pennsylvania, she was an active member of the local community and often lectured about Islam or Palestinian culture to educate the community on these topics.
