1949 Rose Bowl Collection

1968 Democratic National Convention Collection

Abstract The McCormick Library’s small collection on the events surrounding the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago was donated by Kaye Miller in 1982. Miller, a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, was creating a documentary with one of his classes during the days of the convention. Abstract Isaac Arthur Abt, pediatrician and Northwestern University Medical School professor, began his practice in internal medicine but gravitated to pediatrics, with a particular intererst in nutrion, and became one of the earliest specialists in the field. The Isaac Arthur Abt Papers are arranged in six main categories: biographical material; class and teaching notes; publications; addresses; clinics; and material by or related to I. A. Abt's elder son, Arthur Frederick.

Karl Abt (1923- ) Papers

Abstract Karl Abt graduated in 1948 with a B.S. in Business Administration (concentration in business management/personnel). While at Northwestern, Abt was active in the NU Band, playing clarinet and bass clarinet, the Christian Youth League, and was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. The Karl Abt Papers, filling four boxes, consists of materials from the courses Abt attended. Course syllabi, class notes, tests, and a few short reading assignments are included.
