Scope and Contents

The Richard Abrahams collection consists of one half-size archival box and spans the years from 1964 through 2007.

Folder 1 contains one CD labeled "College Swim Scrapbook" with information on Abrahams' swimming career at Northwestern.

Folder 2 contains colored hard copies of the content of the CD. Copies span the years from 1964 through 1966 and are arranged in alphabetical order.

A hard copy of the book “Swimmers: Courage and Triumph” with some biographical information on Abrahams is located in folder 3. The book was published in 2007.

Abstract

Swimmer Richard Abrahams set more than ten world records and more than twenty American records for Masters swimming. The 1966 Northwestern graduate is a Big Ten Champion, NCAA All-American, and an inductee to the International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame.

Method of Acquisition

The Richard Abrahams Papers were donated to the Northwestern University Archives on January 4th, 2012 (Acc. # 12-6).
