Zanzibar and voyage out, 1908-09

 Record Group — Group: 56, Album: 1
Identifier: 56-1

Scope and Contents

This album includes photographs of the voyage from Dover to Zanzibar. Alfred Evans Brown is pictured in many of the photographs, including those of the voyage and those in Zanzibar. The Zanzibar photographs include British Agency personnel, officers from H.M.S. "Hermione", and the Sultan of Zanzibar, identified as Said Ali Bin Hamoud bin Mohamed. A photograph originally tipped in and later affixed onto the page facing p. 1 (here recorded with other p. 1 photographs) has tentatively been identified as depicting Brown, two European men, and Campbell, Patrick, Mrs., 1865-1940.
