The Humphrey Winterton Collection of East African photographs is comprised of about 6,500 photographs organized in 75 primary collections of separate albums, scrapbooks or loose collections. Primary collections range from a single photograph to a set of several photograph albums plus envelopes of loose photographs.

From the File: 1 envelope (1 envelope, 18 cards, 26 x 34 cm.) : Oblong quarto (26 x 34 cm.), containing 18 albumen prints mounted on card, and 2 unmounted silver prints, of various dimensions (ranging from 22 x 28 cm. to 20 x 14 cm.). The unmounted images bear the stamp of P. de Lord Brothers, Zanzibar, some images captioned in German; loosely contained in a late nineteenth century card folder with flaps, cloth hinges, folder dated 1893; some wear to folder.
