Courtyard with Zanzibaris
Scope and Contents
The photographs depict unposed scenes of daily life in Zanzibar, including men drying cloves, Zanzibaris and Europeans walking along narrow streets in the city, a rural road with houses along it, and the harbor. Several photographs depict domestic scenes, including a house with livestock in front of it, and a small courtyard in which people and a goat go about their business. All the photographs are untitled, but a few have numbers penciled on the verso, which have been transcribed.
