Location: Nigeria

The inscription on the base begins "In ever loving memory of our beloved father Julius Akibiyi Apen…". The letters "Apen" are followed by at least one more letter, with a rounded left side, so the name might be "Apeng", or "Apeno"; or either of these plus one more letter.

Originally contained in an envelope (8N:46:t/DW_03435) with the caption "Higher College outside. [Higher College] tree. Log (?), in laboratory. Flats, Ikoyi. Marble statue E.B. Millor + Alahi sitting"
