General

Inscribed: in ink: "63"; typed label with text: "63. An interesting example of dyeing as applied to a cloth behind the alter [sic] table of a school chapel at Shagamu. The edges and centre of the cross have been dyed a light blue by the adire eleso process of tyed dyeing. Some parts of the cloth are left white, the main body is a dark blue. The cloth is suspended in front of the open wooden fame-work of a door. The dark shadow of the framework adds to the decorative effect, the light blue and white cross glows with transmitted light"
