Sub-series "Publishing-related materials", spanning from 1995 to 2010 is a collection of Larson's published essays, writing drafts and notes, photographs, maps, tables and illustrations, and a wooden relief portrait of Radama that he used in his 2000 publication, "History and Memory in the Age of Enslavement". Sub-series "Last project-related materials" contains research materials that were on his desk before his passing, such as research articles, notes, and inventories. "Unpublished Manuscripts" as a born-digital sub-series, contains materials like exhaustive research materials and notes, drafts, data, presentation notes, and correspondence.
