Scope and Contents
The William B. Lloyd Papers document Lloyd's political, philanthropic, and academic interests and activities. The collection consists of correspondence, notes, reports, unpublished manuscripts, broadsides, and news clippings. The Lloyd papers contain a significant quantity of information on political activities undertaken through the American Friends Service Committee; administration of the Sophia Haag Trust Fund; Lloyd's advocacy of mediation to resolve disputes in Asia, between the United States and Cuba, and in South Africa; the movement to ban nuclear weapons; and Lloyd's promotion of radio exchange programs to reduce international tensions and promote peace.
