Lillian Mallstrom Airline Menu and Memorabilia Collection

The Lillian Mallstrom Airline Menu and Memorabilia Collection contains transportation ephemera focused on the aviation industry of the mid to late 20th century. As one of the few collections compiled by a woman at the Transportation Library, this collection offers an interesting insight into materials created for traveling mothers and parents, such as menus for children and babies, a baby bottle cooler, and a throw-a-way diaper.

The collection includes 173 menus from 24 airlines, 1 railroad, and 3 cruise lines. A few of the menus include handwritten notes and annotations. The collection also contains atlases and onboard gifts from United Airlines, British Airways, and Royal Nepal Airlines, including a portfolio, games, sun goggles, plastic bib, and stationery.
