The addition to the Joe Park Papers, comprising one box and one half box, spanning the years 1933 to 1987, includes biographical materials, awards and certificates, class evaluations, general correspondence, correspondence from the International Teaching Development Program, notes from the class “History of Education, research notes, unidentified notes, speeches and papers, general publications, correspondence on the book Selected Readings in the Philosophy of Education, and notes from the book.

The biographical materials, arranged within the first five folders, include newspaper clippings, an article and citation about Joe Park, awards, certificates, and letters pertaining to appointments. In addition, the materials include Park's commencement programs, as well as booklets for Phi Kappa Phi fraternity, and three Indiana teaching licenses. Concluding the biographical materials is a collection of appreciative class evaluations put together by Park's “The School and Modern Society” class in 1951. These pages, originally compiled in a scrapbook, reveal the favorable impact of Park's teaching on his students.

General correspondence, arranged in one folder spanning 1941 to 1987, mainly includes letters from Northwestern faculty and correspondence from students.

International Teacher Development Program Correspondence, covering the years 1959 and 1964, includes a collection of letters, particularly Christmas cards from participants in the program, which are arranged chronologically in one folder. The International Teacher Development Program, of which Joe Park was the director, invited several teachers (ranging from Elementary school teacher to Superintendent or above) from all around the world to Northwestern University to take classes and seminars in the School of Education. The program was at least partially funded by the United States Congress.

“History of Education” notes are arranged as they were received, comprising two folders. Within the folders is a class outline and handwritten and typed notes.

Research notes and Unidentified notes are undated and separated into two folders. The research notes, typed onto index cards, mainly concern books on philosophy and education. The unidentified notes are handwritten and arranged as they were received.

Articles and Addresses comprise one folder of mostly undated papers and one known speech.

Publications are arranged within the last three folders. The first folder includes copies of Park's published papers along with the title page of the serial/journal. It has a date span ranging from 1938 to 1978. The next folder includes correspondence on the third edition of Selected Readings in the Philosophy of Education, a book Park edited. These letters span one year 1966 to 1967. The final folder includes information on proofreading Selected Readings in the Philosophy of Education, its table of contents, and its advertisement.
