The Paul Moore Papers, comprising four boxes, include biographical materials, correspondence, and subject files that reflect Moore's academic career, professional activities and his associations with professional organizations.

The biographical materials include his graduate school transcript, Northwestern University faculty biographical questionnaires, press releases, newspaper clippings, a paper entitled "A Photoelectric Approach to the Study of Phonation" and a speech and hearing disorders handbook based on clinical and experimental work and edited by Lee Edward Travis.

The bulk of the correspondence (spanning the period from September, 1949 to September, 1954) consists of personal and professional correspondence, and is largely routine in nature. Moore was the Director of Student Training in Speech Correction at Northwestern and in this capacity wrote many recommendations for students seeking to become speech correctionists or members of the American Speech and Hearing Association. Other correspondence concerns student teaching placement for Northwestern speech correction students; the Voice Clinic; motion picture photography and its scientific applications especially regarding study of the larynx; Evanston Public Schools Summer Speech Correction Workshop; the Chicago Speech Correction Society; the Speech Association of America; the Quarterly Journal of Speech, the Central States Speech Journal and the Journal of Speech and Hearing Disorders. Additionally, there are reports and correspondence pertaining to clinical interviews and examinations of patients who used the services of the Voice Clinic.

The remainder of the papers is organized in folders by headings that reflect Moore's involvement in various professional organizations including the American Speech and Hearing Association, the Central States Speech Association, the Chicago Speech Correction Society, the Chicago Speech Therapy and Audiology Society and the Speech Association of America. These files contain mainly correspondence, convention program materials and, in the case of the Central States Speech Journal, which, for a period, Moore edited, some manuscripts and gallery proofs of articles. The papers also include correspondence and reading lists relating to Moore's work at the University of Colorado at Boulder while a Visiting Lecturer during the summer of 1951; correspondence, reports, announcements and notes pertaining to the Evanston Public Schools Summer Speech Correction Workshops of 1950, 1951 and 1952; correspondence regarding Moore's role as another of the University Committee on Teacher Education; and correspondence, plans, clinical interviews and reports relating to the Voice Clinic. Four audio disc recordings have been separated from the Voice Clinic folders (see Separation Record). Correspondence relating to almost all of the above subjects also can be found scattered throughout the papers in the alphabetically-arranged correspondence folders.
