American Chemical Society, 1980

 File — Box: 4, Folder: 14
Identifier: Folder 14
These additions to the chemical engineering departmental files fill one box and span the period from 1969 to 1982; they bulk during the years 1978–1981. The records are largely administrative in nature and include general departmental correspondence, planning and faculty files, graduate student files, and subject files.

General departmental correspondence concerns curricular development, course scheduling, and registration, faculty recruitment, and graduate student support as well as routine administrative matters.

The planning and faculty files center on departmental goals for teaching and research. Of particular interest are the department's long range planning reports issued in 1978. Also included here are faculty activity and distribution of effort reports which document the allocation of departmental time to teaching, research, and administrative work. Materials relating to an open faculty position are foldered separately.

The graduate student files are arranged in six folders and concern fellowship awards, Graduate Record Examination summary statistics, the part time program leading to the master of science degree, placement, grades, and general graduate research.

The subject files are arranged in four folders and include routine administrative correspondence and related materials on miscellaneous topics including: the American Chemical Society, faculty positions available at other institutions, postdoctoral and research position applications, and the department's photocopying expenses.
