Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Herbert F. Fisk Papers, spanning the period from 1874 to 1917, are arranged in nine folders, filling one box. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence and writings by Fisk, including his report as Principal of the Northwestern University Academy in 1896, and the typescript of his chapter on the administration of President Joseph Cummings for Wilde's Northwestern University: A History (1905).

The collection also includes a folder of clippings relating to Fisk's "causes," the anti-tobacco and anti-saloon movements; a small folder of biographical information; a few pages (undated) apparently from a diary or journal kept by Fisk; and a commemorative volume issued in honor of his 30th anniversary as Principal of the Northwestern University Academy.
