Scrapbook Pages: Photographs, undated
Scope and Contents
The series consists of unbound pages from Edna Marie Sale's scrapbook, along with many associated loose items. Of particular value is Sale's notebook relating to coursework in physical culture. Her notes on poise, gesture, breathing, and tone of voice, along with pertinent written exercises, illuminate the School of Oratory curriculum of the early twentieth century. Clippings, a small volume of correspondence, dance cards, the scrapbook pages and photographs reflect family and personal interests dating from the last years of the nineteenth and early years of the twentieth centuries.
