“Nu Beta Epsilon, Fraternity Song,” Sheet Music, 1929

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 3
Identifier: Folder 3

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The series consists of a book of minutes, a few pages of loose-leaf records, and sheet music of the Northwestern University chapter, named for Louis D. Brandeis, of Nu Beta Epsilon. Formed to “promote good fellowship and high scholarship,” Nu Beta Epsilon was a fraternity for students of the Northwestern University School of Law.

Minutes date from the chapter's establishment in 1927 through early 1932. They record the routine business and social activities of the fraternity. Copies of the chapter's constitution and bylaws are found at the back of the volume of minutes. Loose-leaf records supplement the bound minutes and date from 1932. Chapter member Harold R. Gordon, a graduate of the Northwestern Law class of 1931, wrote the words and music to “Nu Beta Epsilon, Fraternity Song” (1929). A copy of the sheet music completes the series.
