This collection contains compilations of Northwestern University master’s degree thesis and doctoral dissertation authors and titles. The compilations take the form of lists noting year of degree awarded, name of degree recipient, and full title of thesis or dissertation. Records pertaining to master’s degrees date from the period circa 1892-1982. Those relating to doctoral dissertations date from circa 1896-1980.

Included in this collection is a "List of Northwestern University Doctoral Dissertations" covering the period 1896-1990. This list, created in Northwestern University Library’s Reference Department, does not appear to be comprehensive in its coverage of dissertations awarded during that span of years.
