 File — Box: 2, Folder: 3

Description of the Additions

From the Series:

These additions to the papers of Ardis Kuhnen Godeman, dating between circa 1939 and 1951, reflect academic, social, and family activities and interests. Included are documents associated with her grammar school education at Roycemore School in Evanston, Illinois, but mainly her social engagements as a young adult and while a student at Northwestern University. Of particular note are dance cards; a scrapbook; expressions of love from Frederick J. Godeman, Ardis’s future husband; and photographs and other items reflective of the nightlife enjoyed by Northwestern students and Evanstonians during the years shortly after World War II.

Also found within the collection are documents, circa 1901 to 1913, illuminating the secondary and post-secondary education of Arthur N. Kuhnen, the father of Ardis Kuhnen Godeman.
