The Lawrence Pressman Papers contain 26 boxes and 7 series: Biography; Scripts and production materials; Publicity, correspondence, and awards; Photographs; Books; Recordings (DVD only); and Artifacts. The scrapbook is of particular note, as it contains memorabilia illustrating Pressman’s life from 1955-1962, which largely covers his college years.

Biography (boxes 1 and 2) contains materials ranging from 1956-1971. It holds an article on Pressman’s parents, course material and degree certificate from Northwestern University, and several notebooks containing acting notes and personal writings.

Scripts and production materials (boxes 3-12) contains scripts and related materials, housed separately in adjacent folders, dated between 1976-2015. These materials were received housed together in binders. Binder materials were found in the pockets of the binder which held the corresponding script.

Publicity, correspondence, and awards (boxes 13-15) contains materials ranging from 1961-2017. Included are a variety of newspaper clipping, magazines, printed online reviews, playbills, correspondence, and awards. Several correspondence of note, including Woody Allen, Harold Pinter, Neil Simon, Larry Gelbart, and Brian Bedford.

Photographs (boxes 16-17, 25) contains color and black and white portrait photos, production images, and several unidentified images, as well as several negatives, dated between 1962-2011. One oversize color portrait photo is located in box 25, folder 2.

Books (boxes 18-20) contains texts referenced for both Pressman’s years at Northwestern and for his professional roles, printed between 1936-1998. Love in the Time of Cholera contains an inscription by and correspondence from author Gabriel Garcia Marquez, whose son, Rodrigo Garcia, directed Pressman in Nine Lives (2005).

Recordings (boxes 21-22) contains 77 DVD or CD discs of recordings of Pressman’s screen and stage career, as well as interviews, between 1961-2017.

Artifacts (boxes 23-26) contains materials ranging from 1955 to approximately the 1990s. Included are two directors chair seat backs, one inscribed with “Lawrence Pressman” and another inscribed with both his name and Doogie Howser, M.D.. Also included is a scrapbook (1955-1962) which has been digitized, and a trophy for "Outstanding Performance State Drama Festival University of Kentucky 1956."
