Adult Individuals, circa 1900-1915

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 2

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The collection is comprised of eight-by-ten inch photographic prints which appear to be photographs of Shelby Millard Harrison, Adelina (Patti) Rodgers Harrison, and their families and friends. Most of the photographs are unidentified but show a variety of locations including the Fort Washington section of New York City, western Pennsylvania (including the Paradise Dunkard Meetinghouse cemetery in Greencastle, the Enoch Brown monument in Antrim Township, and the Brown’s Mill Consolidated School building in Greencastle), Leaf River, Illinois (Lightsville Cemetery), and Evanston, Illinois (Northwestern University Athletic Field). Most of the photographs are vernacular in nature and document family life, vacation spots, rural and urban views, and familiar social occasions. Some of the photographs illustrate what appear to be the social activities of college-aged students and young adults.
