Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Richard Garofalo Papers fill three boxes and approximately 1.73 gigatbyes and span the period of 1970-1984 (bulk dates 1971-1974). The majority of the papers consist of materials from Garofalo’s time at Northwestern, both as a Cherub in the National High School Institute’s Speech Program in Radio-Television-Film (RTVF) and as a college student. The materials from the Cherub Program include his acceptance letter, correspondence, paperwork, a group photo, group work, and other assignments. Included in the materials from his time at Northwestern are class notes, assignments, and exams. Box 3 contains cardstock sheets with images and program titles used for several of Garofalo’s class assignments. Digitized files consist of a video recording of portions of the 1973 WAA-MU show, audio interviews with WGN staff by Garofalo, and two radio programs: The Reviewing Stand (reporting from Northwestern's Theatre and Interpretation Center’s Dedication Gala), and Frazier and Friends featuring Frazier Thomas. All digital files in this collection are digital surrogates (digitized content of unavailable or destroyed originals).
