The biographical materials, spanning the years 1922-1977, are comprised of general personal data (including her diploma, her will, and obituaries), 1922-1977; property records, 1957-1969; financial records, 1942-1975; materials relating to her volunteer work as editor of Friends Journal and at Friends Hospital, 1951-1975; correspondence, arranged chronologically by date, 1948-1976; an address book and cards, 1963-1975; and three diaries, 1969-1975.

The material in the speeches and conferences files spans the years 1950-1975 and is arranged chronologically by date. It includes speeches Rose delivered on various occasions, 1950-1974, and files relating to writers' conferences she attended as a speaker and workshop leader.

The material relating to Rose's editorial work spans the years 1938-1975 and is arranged in three folders. One folder contains clippings relating to Rose and her work as editor of Jack and Jill, and articles and short stories she wrote for the magazine, 1938-1973; another contains letters written by children to Jack and Jill, 1945-1957; and the third contains records relating to her editorial work for Westminster Press, 1969-1975.

The writings span the years 1924-1975. Each folder typically contains the text of the story or article and correspondence, clippings, and other material relating to the work.
