Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Kenyon E. Poole Papers occupy 1.5 boxes and span the period 1929-1978, with the bulk of the material from 1944 to 1960. The Papers are arranged in one major category (Correspondence) and four minor categories: biographical materials, teaching files (one folder), papers presented before professional organizations, and publications.

The biographical materials include small amounts of curriculum vitae, clippings, and news releases.

The correspondence contains a small amount of general material and two major groups: letters from Poole to his birth family and letters to Poole from his wife, Katherine Noland Poole. The former includes (Box 1, Folder 6-7) letters about Poole's European trip in 1931-1932, while the latter includes many letters from Katherine to Poole while he was serving in the Navy overseas in 1944-1945.

The papers presented before professional organizations include three such papers and the printed versions of three of Poole's appearances on the Northwestern University Reviewing Stand radio program.

The publications series consists primarily of reprints.
