A collection of buildings on the south side of University Place, between Maple Avenue and the alley adjacent to the CTA tracks. Referred to collectively in earlier drawings by names such as "Northern Illinois Gas Building." The cluster of buildings at the corner of Maple and University are called buildings 1-4, with a doorway in building 1 at 920 University Place (in 1960, called West Building, and B&G shops). Building 5 has a doorway at 910 University Place (in 1960, 1st floor called parking, 2nd floor called Const. Dept. and B&G). Building 6 has a doorway at 906 University Place (in 1960, 2nd floor called Purchasing Dept.). Building 7 is also "Butler Building" (in 1960 called purchasing store). This is not the same as the Butler Building at 1810 Hinman
