Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Irving Goldstein Papers occupy one box and run from 1919 to 1969.

The bulk of the collection is comprised of correspondence which deals primarily with legal, teaching and publishing matters.

The small amount of biographical material includes Goldstein's honorable discharge from World War I.

The teaching files consist of lecture notes, questions, and exams. The Lawyers Post Graduate Clinics file (Folder 19) contains a substantial amount of material.

The small amount of publications materials refers mainly to Goldstein's successful lawyers post graduate clinics which were the subject of an article in Collier's (Folder 3). The other folder contains a few handwritten lyrics or poems by Goldstein.

Jeff L. Lewin's article, "The Genesis and Evolution of Legal Uncertainty about 'Reasonable Medical Certainty'", Maryland Law Review (1998) 57:2, pages 380-504, has been added to the Irving Goldstein Papers, Series 17/13, at Box 1, Folder 1. The article makes reference to Goldstein's career and his publication Trial Technique.
