Scope and Contents

The Mary Scriver Papers primarily contain materials related to Alvina Krause, and Scriver’s association with Krause. Included are class notes and papers from both high school and college, programs, publications, clippings, photographs and correspondence. The collection is divided into three series: Class notes and writings; Subject files; and Artifacts.

Box 1, Class notes and writings by Ms. Scriver, c. 1950-1961, contains class notes and writings from high school through college.

Box 2-4, Subject files, 1956-2012, contains materials related to Alvina Krause. These include correspondence, most notably a letter from Krause, clippings, publications, promotional materials, and programs. Also included is correspondence with classmates and friends that were also students of Krause.

Box 5, Artifacts, contains a ring binder from Ms. Scriver's high school years.

Abstract

Mary Scriver attended Northwestern University from 1958-1961 and was a student of Alvina Krause, Associate Professor of Dramatic Production, 1957-1961. Her papers are directly related to her experience as a student of Krause, consisting of class notes and writings, and later, correspondence with classmates and friends associated with Krause. The Mary Scriver Papers fill five boxes and span the years from 1950-2012.

The Mary Scriver papers are organized into: Class notes and writings (in alphabetical order); subject files (in alphabetical order by keyword in the folder caption); and artifacts.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The collection was donated by Mary Scriver to the Northwestern University Archives in 2018 (#18-74).
