Scope and Contents
This series fills 8 boxes and includes both working papers and reprints produced by the Banking Research Center.
As a part of its mission the Banking Research Center issues periodic reprints of articles or other published works and working papers relating to research and issues in banking. Working papers are intermediate research products that are circulated to promote professional discussion and criticism. Reprints are circulated to broaden the distribution of published BRC research.
Each title is foldered separately. A few folders also contain notes and correspondence relating to the working papers as well as clippings and reviews. Different revisions of the papers, if available, are also included.

Abstract
This series includes both working papers and reprints produced by the Banking Research Center, which was established in 1969 by Northwestern University's Graduate School of Management and eleven Chicago-based banks to establish and maintain a dialogue between scholars and the banking community. Working papers are intermediate research products that are circulated to promote professional discussion and criticism. Also included are notes and correspondence relating to the working papers as well as clippings and reviews.
Arrangement Note
Folders are arranged sequentially by an identifying number assigned by the Center.
Method of Acquisition
The bulk of these records were transferred to the University Archives by Sandra Berthard, Kellogg Graduate School of Management, on June 27, 1994 as Accession #94-83. A smaller amount was transferred from the University Archives general files where they had been received as Accessions #84-200, 88-87, 88-211, and 88-279. Two other small additions were added as Accession #85-256 and #88-23.
Separated Materials
One-half cubic foot of duplicates were discarded. BRC “Cases in Bank Management” papers were separated (.3 cubic feet) and processed as Series 12/7/2.
