History Department Graduate Admissions Records

This series spans the period 1977-1987 and fills six and one-half boxes. The files contained here relate to individual candidates for graduate study (both M.A. and Ph.D. programs) in the Northwestern University History Department. They are arranged alphabetically by applicants' surnames and typically include some or all of the following: application for admission to graduate study and for financial aid, transcripts documenting undergraduate coursework, Graduate Record Examination test score reports, letters of recommendation, History Department candidate evaluation form, writing sample or copies of undergraduate research papers, and supporting correspondence.
