The series consists of one oversize scrapbook documenting Bauman's career as a collegiate football player at Northwestern University. Included in the scrapbook are clippings dating between 1939 and 1941 and gleaned from Chicago newspapers and national magazines. The clippings are useful for the details they provide on Bauman's own athletic achievements as well as for the infomation they relate in general to the Northwestern football team. Bauman was a Northwestern teammate of other such notables as Bill de Correvont and Otto Graham. Supplementing the clippings are correspondence, telegrams and certificates pertaining to some of Bauman's many awards and recognitions.
