Joan Wagner Beck (September 5, 1923-December 11, 1998) was a columnist and trailblazer at the Chicago Tribune, where she was the first woman with a regular column in the editorial or op-ed pages, the first woman in charge of a daily section and the first woman to serve on the paper’s editorial board.

Abstract
The Records of the Associate General Counsel consists of fifty-five boxes relating to Martha P. Mandel's time at Northwestern University--first as Assistant General Counsel, and then as Associate General Counsel. The first twenty-four boxes are correspondence files, contianing Mandel's communications with faculty, law firms, and other universities concerning her work. Owen L. Coon (1894-1948) Scrapbook

Abstract
The Owen L. Coon Scrapbook began as a record of Coon's years at Northwestern University. Nearly half of the scrapbook does document Coon's college life between 1912 and 1919. However, the balance of the scrapbook is filled with clippings, photographs, and ephemera that precede and postdate Coon's Northwestern years—including items from Coon's youth in Rantoul and from his travels in Europe, as well as general Coon family photographs and memorabilia.

Abstract
Qudsia Ahmad (1912-2009), born in Palestine, was recognized as a poet and worked as a radio broadcaster for the Palestine Broadcasting Service (PBS) before moving to the United States in January 1948. Residing in Forty Fort Pennsylvania, she was an active member of the local community and often lectured about Islam or Palestinian culture to educate the community on these topics.
