Scope and Contents
This series consists of information from and about the Chicago tribune. It contains information spanning the entire history of the Tribune, in all genres and formats, such as: internal documents; publications; photographs; information about policies, practices, staff and buildings; printing plates; plaques; awards; paintings; original artwork. Almost any research into matters connected to the Chicago tribune should include an investigation into the material contained in this series.

Arrangement
Originally housed in a series of brown folders with captions on the tabs. The photographs have been placed into new folders that preserve the original captions. The folder arrangement in the original boxes appeared to be chaotic; but the folders have been re-arranged according to the scheme found inserted between two of the original folders. (Not all of the items in this arrangement scheme have corresponding folders.) The contents of one unlabeled folder do not match any of the categories in the arrangement scheme. The contents of individual folders do not always match the folder captions.
Materials of a similar date and appearance have been added from a box containing unsorted photographs
General
Many of these photographs were published in house organs such as the Trib or Little trib
Processing Information
Part of the collection assigned the temporary identifier XI-434: materials from Tribune Corporate Relations. This portion of the collection came in 8 boxes of various sizes; the contents of each box appeared (from the folder captions) to be in random order, and the sequence of boxes was not indicated
