Arrangement

This raw data for an index was compiled in four 6-month segments (1940 January/June; 1940 July/December; 1941 January/June; 1941 July/December), with individual letters or groups of letters on separate sheets. The separate sheets for each letter were then shuffled to produce an approximately alphabetical/chronological arrangement for the whole period.

In November 2021, the sheets as found were assigned foliations (pencil number in upper right corner) and shuffled slightly, to restore the approximately alphabetical/chronological arrangement.
