"I have no doubt that Roosevelt is the victim of hallucinations, but he is a dangerous paranoiac and must be defeated on this [Court] issue, or we will lose the fundamentals of our democracy." On March 9, 1937, Roosevelt gave a fireside chat on his plan to increase membership of the Supreme Court

Originally contained in an envelope typed "Maloney, J. Loy. Sept. 6, 1945" and inscribed "Frank Knox letter 1937 denouncing FDR" in pencil. Relationship to Maloney and 1945 is not evident. The envelope contains a work order for a print from the glass negative for Mr. [John T.] McCutcheon [Jr.], dated 1987-10-16
