Biographical / Historical
Benjamin Franklin Lawrence was the Business Manager and later General Manager of the Indianapolis Star. After the passing of John C. Shaffer, owner of the Indianapolis Star and the Muncie [Indianapolis] Star in 1943, Lawrence and lawyer Walter Brewer became trustees of the papers; they were both sold to Central Newspapers, Inc., in 1944. Lawrence lived from 1877 to circa 1965.
