Aleta Styers was president of the Chicago chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW; founded in 1966 in Washington, D.C.) The material in this collection relates to the formation and early history of the Chicago chapter of NOW as well as the Illinois branch of the organization, between 1966 and 1972. Holdings consist of correspondence, membership lists, financial information, miscellaneous notes for speeches and articles, flyers, newspaper clippings, and information on the testimony of members of the Chicago chapter of NOW at the U.S. Department of Labor hearings in Chicago in 1969.
