Arrangement completed prior to receiving collection from the McCormick Foundation.

Custodial History

On April 27, 1990, Laurie Gingrich, legal files manager at Kirkland & Ellis, sent to the Tribune Company Archives "one box of old Tribune files which we found in storage." The material was processed during August 1990.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Received from the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, Chicago Tribune Company, and Nexstar Media Group on January 10, 2020, accession #SPEC-2020-1.

Related Materials

These files carry the K&E file number 2400. This is the same K&E number assigned to much of the material in XI-175, which came to the archives in 1975. Both groups cover the 1910s and 1920s, so it would appear that this box somehow got separated from the earlier batch.
