This scrapbook contains calling cards, invitations, admission tickets, menus, social correspondence, programs of musical performances and similar materials on paper collected during Robert Sanderson McCormick's term as Secretary to the American Legation to London. These materials illustrate the interactions McCormick and his wife, Katharine Medill McCormick, had with members of the British and foreign royalty and nobility, and other leading persons present in London at the time. The scrapbook includes a small group of photographs, chiefly of passengers on the deck of a ship.
