Spanish Civil War Collection
Scope and Contents
The photographs in this collection depict the history and effects of the Spanish Civil War. The collection includes substantial coverage of military action on both sides of the Spanish Civil War and early World War II. The collection also displays the aftermath of warfare on displaced or killed civilians in numerous regions across Spain, including any interactions Spain had with France and Germany during the given time period. Various other topics demonstrate historic Spanish culture and social dynamics. The photographs come from international press sources and private photograph collections. Many of the photographs are attached to captions giving background and historical information on the subjects.
