Dorr covers the years 1861-1865. During this time Col. Dorr wrote letters to his wife, Mary Bartoo Dorr (1823- 1896) and often kept a journal, even during his imprisonment in 1862. Letters to Mary Bartoo Dorr from her sister, parents, and Laura M. Knowlton are part of the collection as well.
