The original letter is in series IX-63, box 1, folder 66: "That is a matter of so much importance that I think it would warrant your coming on here and taking dinner and letting me go overr it with you. I take it for granted that you will cordially agree with me that such action as that of General [Nelson A.] Miles is to be reprimanded severely ...
