Collection consists of materials related to articles written by surgeon and professor Raymond W. McNealy, MD, throughout his career, mainly on the subject of gastrointestinal surgery, particularly cecostomy, colostomy, ileostomy, gastric resection, and appendectomy. Includes various working and published copies of the articles, some cowritten with Caesar Sweitzer, MD, and Manuel E. Lichtenstein, MD (boxes 1 and 2); correspondence related to the publication of the articles (boxes 1 and 2); and 10 original medical illustrations done by Angela Bartenbach Mailer on the same subjects (box 3).

Restricted material includes lists of gastrointestinal surgeries performed by McNealy from 1942 to 1958 (and performed by Caesar Sweitzer from 1958 to 1959).
