U/358-2. ; Three of the calves being pail fed at the Department of Animal Health Experimental Livestock Farm near Accra, Gold Coast. Careful records are kept of grains in weight made by the calves. At birth the bull calves the weigh from 55 lbs to 69 lbs. and heifer calves from 49 to 59 lbs. Indigenous plains cattle give calves weighing 15 to 25 lbs. The amount of milk allowed to them increases with the age and from three weeks concentrates in the form of meal are mixed with the milk. ...
