Abstract William Kaye Beatty was educated at Harvard College and Columbia University. Beatty joined the faculty of Northwestern University in 1962 as professor of medical bibliography. He held the administrative appointment of medical librarian from 1962 to 1974. In 1974 he began teaching courses in the history of medicine and medical writing. Abstract

These records comprise the correspondence of Medical School librarians Dr. Walter Herman Buhlig (1908-1913) and Selma Schneider (1913-1927) from 1909 to 1916. Arranged in chronological order, the correspondence relates mainly to the purchase of library materials from various publishers and booksellers; however, some letters and memoranda between 1913 and 1916 pertain to the examination schedules established by the Medical School registrar.
