Scope and Contents : A feature of native hospitals on the gold mines in the spaciousness and modern design of the medical surgical wards.  This picture shows a surgical ward with partitions between every 4 beds an [sic] a wide corridor down the centre.  Behind the European medical officer in the foreground can be seen native male nurse attending to a patient.  The average tribal native much prefers to be attended by male nurses than by women - even native women. ; Photo No. J.33 Issued by the State Information...
