Leon Moses came to Northwestern University in 1959. He held a joint appointment as a professor in the Department of Economics and as a faculty member in the Transportation Center until his retirement in 2005. Moses’ research work focused on the economics of firm location and the critical role played by transportation services and transportation costs. In addition to his research, he was an award-winning teacher.

Abstract Leon Moses (1924-2013), was a professor in the Department of Economics at Northwestern University and served as faculty member in the Transportation Center. Rae Moses (1935-2013) was a faculty member in the Linguistics Department at Northwestern University, and held the positions of Director of the Women's Studies Program and Assistant Dean of Arts and Sciences.
