Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Patricia Murphey Scrapbook provides a vivid snapshot of student life during WWII. The scrapbook, documenting Murphey's busy years at Northwestern, holds newspaper clippings, programs and announcements, and photographs. Items are arranged in rough chronological order, from a New Student Week schedule to a commencement program. Materials include items directly relating to Murphey—student i.d. cards, photographs, and newspaper clippings about her activities and friends; such general items as student handbooks, form letters, and programs from musical and theatrical performances; and clippings on topics of interest to Murphey, such as the war effort and enrollment figures for Northwestern University.
