Northwestern University: Student-Athlete Planner, 2016 - 2017

The collection documents Tommy Doles’s academic and athletic achievements at Northwestern University. Materials date between 2014 and 2019.

Academic files include course notes, syllabi, examinations, and student papers. Those files are arranged first by academic unit or department and thereafter, when pertinent, by course number. Completing the academic files is a compendium of Doles’s course papers and other writings done while a Northwestern student. The “Miscellaneous Writings” section of that compendium includes a 2018 vita as well as other items of a biographical nature and expressive of career interests.

Athletics files relate primarily to Doles’s career as an outstanding member of the Northwestern University football team during the 2015 through 2018 seasons. Included are materials associated with leadership development along with other items which document in detail the protocols, formations, and plays of the Northwestern football team in 2015. Doles’s student-athlete calendar and planner from 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 illuminate the policies by which Northwestern athletes govern their conduct as well as track some of his day-to-day activities as a student and as an athlete. Also found within the athletic files are Doles’s 2019 National Football League player contract with the Chicago Bears.
